DESCRIPTION: 3. Raised bed vegetable garden, built in 1995, is constructed of quarry stone. The walls were carefully leveled on this sloping grade. Because the wall is dry laid, as the ground flexes with with cold and warm variance, there is no cracking of mortar to contend with. These walls, built with random size stones and curved to create an expansive and dimensional scenic effect, require more time & skill to build. Still, the finished effect, is infinitely rewarding as it reveals the artistry of the workmanship. This raised bed is crafted for esthetic impact and structural soundness, built to industry standards. The cross section walk way is constructed of one-quarter inch slate and was intentionally designed to give the gardener access to the planting areas for installation & maintenance. See next picture showing the vegetable garden lushly grown in.
